As promised, sgkpop is proud to bring you the coverage of Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011 event, featuring mainly on Se7en. Hosted by the Radio 100.3 DJs, it was the first time where the SGE Awards ceremony took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 2nd.
There were over 15 local & international artistes who attended the event and put up a spectacular show for the night. Of the many performers, included S.H.E’s Ella, Alien Huang, Lollipop F, Anthony Neely, Huang Jing Lun, SIGMA, Kit Chan, Derrick Hoh, NamCha, Freshman, Kewei, dayDream, Lovynn Kan, Serene Koong, and not forgetting Se7en, the only Korean artist performer.
Dressed in a dark-colored tuxedo pairing with shades, Se7en was no doubt standing out from the crowd as he walked along the red carpet to the stage.
Thanks to the continuous voting from the fans, Big Bang emerged the top for the “Most Popular Korean Artiste” Award, edging out other bands like BEAST, Super Junior, 2PM, Girls Generation, TVXQ, JYJ, SHINee, C.N.Blue, and F.T. Island. Unfortunately, the boys were not able to attend the awards ceremony due to previous commitments.
Also voted by fans, the “Most Popular U-Weekly Cover” goes to Issue No. 234 featuring Super Junior. For those of you who don’t know, U-Weekly is Singapore’s first hybrid entertainment, lifestyle and social news magazine.
Se7en too, clinched an award for the night – the “Best Asian Performance” Award. Changed into another outfit, he certainly put up a splendid performance that night, starting off with “Better Together” – a title track off his first mini-album, followed by “Digital Bounce” and lastly, “Passion”. He definitely wowed the audience with his signature handstand and dance moves!
After the ceremony ended, Se7en even took a picture of himself with the award. Bet that he enjoyed that night as much as everyone else in the stadium!
Let’s hope that Se7en will visit our sunny island again soon, perhaps for a solo concert next time?
