28th April 2012 – Jay Park ‘New Breed’ Autograph Session in Singapore
Korean-American singer, Jay Park, was in town last weekend for the promotions of his first solo album, titled ‘New Breed’. The following day after his press conference, the singer held an autograph session at the IMM Level 3 Garden Plaza which saw more than 1,000 fans turning up at the event to catch a glimpse of the star. An auction for Jay Park’s autographed album, 6 posters’ set and a T-shirt took place during the event and these items were bid off by a fan for S$800, with all proceeds donated to the Singapore Children’s Society.
That evening, fans were also treated to a performance of Jay’s title track, ‘Know Your Name‘ before the photo-taking and autograph session commenced. Check out the video of Jay’s performance below! (We had to dub the audio of the song in due to the loud buzzing background noise.)
Following the successful fan meeting, the showcase was held at Dragonfly, St James Power Station the next day with a huge turnout of more than 1,000 fans. Hit performances such as ‘Nothing On You‘, ‘I Got Your Back‘, ‘Up and Down‘, ‘Star‘, ‘Girlfriend‘ and ‘Know Your Name‘ were performed by Jay that afternoon, leaving fans cheering and screaming for more.
Here’s a few cuts from his performances:
During the showcase, 5 lucky fans who were selected by Universal Music Singapore from a Facebook contest, gave Jay a surprise when they went on stage with their own exclusive New Breed looks. Besides sharing the same stage as Jay, these 5 fans were given an opportunity to dance to ‘Know Your Name’, where the singer would then pick a final winner among them. Buzzing with excitement, Jay also took this chance to dance along with all of them and even personally arranged their positions too! Check out a clip of the dance below!
Of course, fans did not forget to sing a birthday song for Jay, whose birthday happened to fall on 25th April, a few days before his trip to Singapore. He was presented with cupcakes on stage, and even mentioned that one of his birthday wishes had already came true – that is, being in Singapore and performing for his fans here.
Before the showcase came to an end, Jay also personally autographed for all golden ticket holders. He was seen on all smiles while thanking his fans as he signed on the albums for them.
