[K-Culture] Sports Fiesta 2012 by Teens Network Club

Coming Sunday (11th Nov), The Teens Network (T-Net) Club, part of People’s Association (PA) network, will host its finale anniversary celebrations at *SCAPE Playspace as part of its annual T-Net Club Sports Fiesta. As a platform for youths to showcase their talents and encourage them to pursue their interests, the Sports Fiesta will also host the finals of T-Net Club’s YOUth Got Talent singing competition and its Pulse Street Dance competition (Hip Hop and K-Pop).

This year, for the first time, there is a K-Pop category in addition to a Hip Hop category. Each category will have two age groups competing: Junior (11-17 years old) and Open (11-35 years old). The best dance crew will stand to win:
  • 1st Prize: $1,000 cash + Trophy
  • 2nd Prize: $800 cash + Trophy
  • 3rd Prize: $500 cash + Trophy

Details of Sports Fiesta
Date: November 11th, 2012 (Sunday)
Venue: *SCAPE Playspace (2 Orchard Link, Singapore 237978)
Time: 9am to 6pm (Finals for dance competitions are from 2pm to 4.30pm)

The highlight for the finale will showcase a short musical performance by budding talents who performed earlier this year in June in T-Net Club’s Anniversary Musical, and a launch of a 10th Anniversary Commemorative Book titled “Touching Lives, Inspiring Teens”, a compilation of heartwarming stories of members who have been touched and inspired by T-Net staff or volunteers.
This annual Sports Fiesta for youths aged between 11-35 years old is running in its 7th year and will integrate a community service element where points scored for any of the sports competitions including street soccer (4-a-side), street basketball (3-a-side) and street netball (4-a-side), will help raise funds for the T-Net Club Talent Development Fund. Backed by sponsors, the final number of goals scored will result in the total amount of cash donations for the fund, which will be to nurture and groom T-Net members who are talented in fields such as sports, music, design, performing or visual arts, and help realise their fullest potential by supporting them for relevant training and courses.
