Catch the highly anticipated drama ‘Scarlet Heart‘ which is set to debut on the small screens this August 29th!
For the first time ever, Singaporeans will no longer need to wait for subtitles to be released for a Korean drama series. Exclusively airing on ONE, the top Korean entertainment channel in Singapore, Korean drama fanatics will be able to watch Scarlet Heart in the same time slot as its telecast in Korea, with subtitles in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malay.
A star-studded drama starring the nation’s little sister IU, Korean heartthrobs and flower boys Lee Joon Ki, Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, Baek Hyun (from EXO), Nam Joo Hyuk, and Ji Soo, Scarlet Heart is based on the remake of popular Chinese drama series 步步惊心.
IU plays the female lead character ‘Hae-soo’, who finds herself traveling back in time from the modern era to the Korean Goryeo dynasty, where a web of political intrigue and complicated love lines involving the princes of Goryeo surround her, and love, friendship, and rivalry develops.
The 20-episode drama was fully pre-produced, with the first script reading taking place in January and the filming wrapping up on 30 June 2016.
Said Virginia Lim, Senior Vice President & Head, Content, Production & Marketing, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television, “In meeting viewers’ expectations for content to be delivered faster, we are excited to be able to offer them a same-time-as-Korea viewing experience that is unprecedented in the region.”
“As the remake of the popular Chinese series, Scarlet Heart has big shoes to fill, but with the high production quality involved we have no doubt that it will amply satisfy fans’ expectations.”
Catch the premiere of Scarlet Heart first and exclusively on Channel ONE (Singtel TV Ch 513 & 504, StarHub TV Ch 124, 820 & 823) on 29 August 2016, airing every Monday and Tuesday at 9pm (SGT).
