[COVER] “Grim Reaper” Lee Dong Wook Wants A Bad Guy Role For His Next Project

Actor Lee Dong Wook was in Singapore for his Fan Meeting last Saturday, where he made a special appearance at Plaza Singapura for an open press conference.

At the press conference, Lee Dong Wook talked about the popularity of “Grim Reaper” from his hit drama, Goblin, as he looked back on how the drama fared earlier this year.

Though he has starred in several dramas, the actor said it was difficult to choose a favourite character among all the roles he had played. He found each character relatable to himself in one way or another, and added that every scene in Goblin was very memorable.

On his choice of drama roles to portray in future projects, Lee Dong Wook expressed his desire to take on a bad guy character and revealed that he has plans to start working on a new drama or film after concluding his Asia Tour in July.

Fans were able to reminisce on the past works of Lee Dong Wook at the Fan Meeting, bringing back much memories as the actor re-enacted several scenes that involved the participation of some lucky fans.

He also picked out three best scenes of Grim Reaper from the drama, and meanwhile relayed his disappointment that the house used for filming in Goblin was no longer present as it was a filming set.

Lee Dong Wook was also generous in fulfilling fans’ requests, from selfies to hugs and even recording a personalised morning call for a fan.

The Fan Meeting was concluded with a soothing OST from Bubble Gum dedicated by the actor to his adored fans, before he exited the stage with the signature TT dance.

[Food Review] Seorae Cooks Up A Sizzling New Menu (Stand To WIN Vouchers Worth $500!)

Seorae restaurant is well-known for upholding their brand name by serving authentic Korean cuisine fit for royalty. If you were looking for a reason to splurge on some irresistible Korean meat grilled to perfection, now is the right time!

Seorae recently started offering a refreshing new menu that features attractive platters and even 20% off BBQ meats for lunches on weekdays.

We started the meal the right way, straight to the grill. Seorae is one of the few restaurants in Singapore that has charcoal grills, which contributes to the authentic taste of the meat!

The signature Galmaegisal (Garlic-Soy Galbi) was delightful, every bite a burst of tenderness and flavour. The experience is further elevated to the next level when you wrap the meat with a copious serving of cheese.

In Seorae, the LA Galbi is a must-try among the plethora of choices. Marinated to a flavourful and succulent goodness, it was truly a treat for the tastebuds.

The all-new Mix Kkochi Platter on the menu contains different skewers of pork belly wrapped around cheese, enoki and kimchi. Every skewer offers a different world of taste all together, each one as delicious as the other.

Whether it’s the juicy enoki bursting with flavour, melted cheese overflowing from the meat wrap or the cosy taste of kimchi grounding you to the roots of Korean cuisine, it’s hard to stop going for more.

If you’re looking for a tangy relief from the grease of the grilled meat, we recommend the Pineapple Soju. The beverage is a refreshing blend of soju and pineapple juice tropically served in a carved out pineapple, pretty interesting!

Seorae’s Cheese Mandu Tteokbokki was a guilty pleasure worth succumbing to. The viscous gravy is a blissful combination of cheese and kimchi stew, simmering with a myriad of ingredients. The cheese mandu (dumpling) deserves a special mention, filled with a delectable combination of sweet corn and cheese!

The Sundubu Jjigae was a stew bubbling with fragrance, filled with firm tofu and many ingredients! Although the stew was not outstanding compared to the other dishes, it was definitely filling.

Seorae is currently having a 25% discount promotion for their Ultimate Grill Set (serves 2-3 pax), if you’re looking and craving for some delicious Korean grilled meat, you know where to head!

{GIVEAWAY ALERT}
Share this article on your Facebook and simply leave a comment under this article with your Name, Email & FB Name. Tell us one ultimate dish you would want to try at Seorae. 5 winners will walk away with S$100 dining voucher each! Contest ends 21 April 2017.

[COVER] Ji Chang Wook Talks About His Big Screen Debut And Shares Plans Before Enlistment

Actor Ji Chang Wook was the talk of the town when he visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the first time to promote his debut movie, Fabricated City.

Landing himself a lead role in the action thriller, Ji Chang Wook was all smiles as he discussed about his big screen debut as well as his plans before military enlistment this year.

In the movie, the actor plays the character of Kwon Yu, a hardcore gamer who spends most of his time at Internet cafes. Kwon Yu was wrongfully accused of murder when he found a lost phone and returned it to its owner, who was discovered brutally murdered the next morning. With the help of his online teammates, he fought his way to prove his innocence in this shadowy case.

Since this was his first time starring as the lead role in a film, Ji Chang Wook revealed that he did not feel much difference between filming for a drama and a movie.

The actor however found it more challenging for the latter due to time constraints which at one point became both physically and emotionally draining for him. He added that much preparations and effort were made into developing his movie character as it involved many action scenes.

When asked about his filming experience, Ji Chang Wook particularly pointed out the prison scenes and described them as ‘scary’ and ‘tiring’. Though he did not sustain any major injuries during filming, the actor revealed that he actually rehearsed the action scenes multiple times in order to prevent such injuries from occurring.

“This is my first time here in Malaysia, I was really curious and didn’t know what to expect. But I was taken aback by the warm welcome of Malaysian fans at the airport. It was a unique experience and I will remember it for a long time,” he chuckled.

He brought laughter to the room when he said, “I haven’t had the chance to step out of my hotel, but I would like to visit again for a vacation.”

On his plans before enlistment this year, Ji Chang Wook says, “I have schedules packed before military, but if time allows, I’d like to go for a vacation.”

He added that filming for his new romance comedy drama will commence when he head back to Korea. It is a genre that he has never tried before and he thinks it will be really fun.

The actor ended off with a warm message for his fans, “I’ve always wanted to say thank you. I can only be here because of the love and support from my fans. I will work harder to fulfil your expectations. Please enjoy Fabricated City!”

Catch Ji Chang Wook’s debut movie, Fabricated City, which will open in Singapore theatres on 20 April 2017! Find out more information of the movie and catch the official trailer HERE!
