In island-wide cinemas from 17 August, THE BATTLESHIP ISLAND stands as one of the most ambitious Korean films ever produced in history. Starring a star-studded cast including Hwang Jung-min, So Ji-sub and Song Joong-ki, the film relays the courageous story of three men staging a daring escape from a forced labor camp on the perilous ‘Battleship Island’ while leading 400 fellow Korean prisoners during the Japanese colonial era.

The jaw-dropping film has hit a record high of 970,516 viewers on its opening night in South Korea, and over 4 million admissions in 5 days. With the blockbuster’s massive scale, it was said that the six-month long production took the cast a total of 115 days to complete the shoot!
