VANS Teams Up with KAKAO FRIENDS For A Footwear Collaboration

Listen up, fans of Kakao Friends and Vans! This is not a drill. Come 3 May, Vans will be dropping its highly anticipated collection in selected Vans retailers and online, featuring a footwear collaboration with Kakao Friends, designed by South Korean artist Hyunye.

This adorable and dreamy collection is everything we’ve ever wanted — from the classic Slip-On to the Vans Era and Old Skool silhouettes, they were perfectly designed to blend in with the Kakao Friends characters.

Hyunye has worked with Vans for several custom creations, but unlike the previous designs, this collection is more expressive as each Kakao Friends character is illustrated ‘Off The Wall’ to show their hidden personalities.

Notice that the colors of the sneakers are bright and colorful too, away from the mainstream styles.

Another addition to the collection would be the Vans Sk8-Hi sneakers in blue with blurry illustrations of the Kakao Friends characters.

And for those who love the character ‘Con’, this piece will be a favourite with its doodles lined up all over the Slip-On’s sidewall and heel back.

Though it’s not certain whether this footwear collection will be available out of Korea, one thing for sure is that it will definitely be very hot-selling the moment it releases in stores. If you’re traveling to Korea soon, you know what to bring back home!

In related news, Vans has also just announced another epic collaboration, this time with the Harry Potter theme! No news on the launch date or designs have been released yet, but for all you know, it’s gonna be really dope.
