“The devil can transform into anyone.”
Anyone could be the demon in disguise. It could be your closest friend, your family member, or even a stranger. In METAMORPHOSIS, Kang-gu’s family was faced with extreme confusion and fear when bizarre things come knocking their way one after another ever since they moved into a new home. Turns out that a devil is living amongst them as it transforms into one of the family members, leading to truly horrific results.
Introducing an unexpected subject matter in this film, METAMORPHOSIS is set to thrill audiences with its intense plot, presenting a new vision of horror that is uniquely Korean. This film stars veteran actors Bae Seong-woo, Sung Dong-il and Jang Young-nam, joined by newcomers Kim Hye-jun, Cho Yi-hyun and Kim Kang-hoon.
During its opening week, METAMORPHOSIS topped the Korean box office and raked in over 770,000 admissions, which was pretty impressive for a locally-made horror movie.
In the film, Bae Seong-woo perfectly executed the difficult task of being an exorcist and an uncle to a family harassed by the devil, while Sung Dong-il challenged himself to playing dual roles in his first horror film. Actress Jang Young-nam is also expected to show a side of her that has never been seen before in METAMORPHOSIS, whose performance will confirm to the audience that the devil really do exist.
Film Synopsis:
