Imagine the undulating ocean of gleaming lightsticks, the loud fan chants, the exciting energy of the crowd and your favorite singer performing. Well, we’re not going to burst your bubble because GOT7’s Youngjae will be heading to Singapore this Sunday (July 31) for his “SUGAR” Mini Concert Tour! This will be Youngjae’s first performance in Singapore as a soloist following the release of his second mini-album of the same name.
Assuming you’ve missed the news before, the vocal king of GOT7 delivered his first most memorable mini-album called COLORS from Ars, alongside its title track Vibin. On June 21, he got back in the saddle with his second independent mini-album, SUGAR, which has now turned into Youngjae’s most notable selling collection in first-day sales, as per the Hanteo Chart.
“There’s nothing more important than seeing my fans”
The 25-year old idol is as eager to see his fans as we are to see him! Since it had been some time from his last visit to Singapore, Youngjae explained thoughtfully in an interview with us how Singapore fans were his fondest memory here, and there was nothing more significant to him than his fans.
As he’ll be visiting Singapore on his own this time round, Youngjae mentioned that he would want to unwind and go for a walk around while exploring areas around the performing venue, hotel, or airport.
In his latest mini-album, the self-producing idol once again participated in songwriting, composing, and orchestrating each of the five tracks on the record. He describes his approach to music style and his inspirations, “I think my vocals match well with the funky genre. Inspirations wise, rather than saying that I get them from somewhere”, he explained, “I invested a lot of time and thoughts into (my music).”
It’s no big surprise that the album sold over 38,000 copies on its most memorable day of release, with SUGAR being his most notable selling album in first-day sales.
“I like ‘Lonely’ the most”
Personally, Youngjae appreciates performing ‘Lonely’ the most, out of all tracks. For sure, it is a genuinely intense song intended to mitigate every one experiencing loneliness and accepting themselves as what their identity is. “It feels like I’m telling you my real life story (through this song)”, he elaborated as his previous encounters encouraged him to compose this track.
When asked if he has any current motto that he lives by, Youngjae said he doesn’t. At this moment, he would like to manage the present things well.
“Just come, have fun and enjoy yourselves”
Experiences give us euphoria through recollections and it seems to be that Youngjae knows that well! He is prepared to invest an incredible energy with his fans at the upcoming show in Singapore, “I’m ready to spend a great time with everyone when we meet.”
“I miss you and I really can’t wait to meet everyone in person”
We all know the number one reason to attend the mini-concert is Youngjae himself and he knows it! “First of all, there is me. It’s been a while since I last saw you all.” He admits how he misses his fans earnestly and can’t wait to meet them.
“I just miss you all so much. I can’t wait to go (Singapore), have fun with everyone and have a chat together. Let’s talk about things we haven’t talked about, so please just wait a little bit more!”
Well, what are you hanging on for, folks? Don’t miss out on the singer’s first solo performance in Singapore, we assure you that the wait will definitely be worthwhile. Limited tickets are still available for grabs via Marina Bay Sands website and SISTIC from $138.
