MNET Boys Planet To Hold Singapore Auditions, Registrations Now Open

The road to K-pop stardom isn’t easy, but it always starts somewhere. If you have the aspirations to become the next K-pop star, joining an audition will be the first step toward this path. While the opportunity to audition offline does not come by very often, especially if it’s outside of Korea, there is now a chance for Singaporeans to audition for Mnet‘s upcoming idol reality competition series, Boys Planet.

Come 4th of September, Mnet will be holding an in-person audition in Singapore to hunt down potential male candidates for their new survival reality show. Last year, the female version of the series ‘Girls Planet 999’ saw a successful run where participants from China, South Korea and Japan gathered to vie for the top spots in a 9-member project group, whose members are now famously known to be part of K-pop girl group Kep1er.

Like many other idol reality competitions, shortlisted participants will have to go through rigorous trainings and compete for one of the spots in the debut lineup.

Who Can Audition?

If you think you’ve got what it takes to become the next K-pop star, this chance is for you to grab! There are no limitations on the nationality and/or country of residence, which means to say, as long as you could be present in person to attend the auditions in Singapore, you are eligible to take part in it. Here are some other criteria to take note of:

Boys who are born before 1 January 2020 (i.e. 13 years old and above as of 2022)
Current or ex-trainees, contracted trainees, debuted artistes etc. under any companies are welcomed to apply and participate.
Those who have been disqualified at other Boys Planet auditions may apply as well.

Audition Categories

The audition categories are open to vocal, rap, and/or dance. Song choices must be in Korean or English, and audition pieces should not exceed 1 minute. Participants may choose to take part in one or more categories. For vocal and rap, they are expected to perform without any music accompaniment.

When, Where, How?
