SK-II World PITERA™ Day: Interview with MINA of global girl group TWICE

For most of us, getting over five hours of sleep is a treat, and waking up to dull skin and tired eyes is a reality. Living as an adult is hard, but when you’re an idol under the spotlight, that’s a trial! Mina from TWICE offers us a glimpse into her life as she went on a self-care break with the award-winning PITERA™ Essence from SK-II. Her days of dull and dry skin are over because of SK-II’s PITERA™ Essence. How exciting!

On July 13, SK-II commended its notable and selective skincare fixing PITERA™ on World PITERA™ Day held in Tokyo, Japan, and broadcast to the world. SK-II made its way through PITERA’s history, beginning at the beginning. This day of firsts for PITERA™ likewise denoted the unveiling of the brand’s boldest PITERA™ stress test – ‘Late Night Portraits’, catching the celebrity’s bare face at their worst time of the day.

Read ahead as Mina, the brand ambassador of SK-II, shares with us her first experience with the product to celebrate her “new life” through self-care and skincare.

“Even late at night, my skin remained Crystal Clear”

MINA portrayed a natural side of herself by showing her bare face during the most awful time for the ‘Late Night Portraits’ campaign. Her shoot was just after she completed a tiring day of rehearsals.

“It was certainly an unusual experience to be photographed at night without makeup!” She begins, further elaborating how she was hoping to be anxious, but when the cameras began clicking, she felt particularly comfortable and realized that her skin fluctuations had been balanced out by PITERA™. Indeed, even at night, her skin was all clear!

“My skin has stabilized and I no longer have to worry about the condition of my skin”

Idols and hectic schedules? Always! Mina was asked how, with a tight schedule, she deals with the everyday skin changes as an idol. She replies, “I used to notice that my skin at night was very different from my skin in the morning”.

She further adds, “When I found out from the PITERA™ 24/7 Skin Fluctuation Study that a woman’s skin condition fluctuates greatly within a day, even looking almost 10 years older, that surprised me!” She also explained how after using the PITERA™ Essence, she can see that her skin has balanced out.

“Braver about going bare skinned, and being more authentic and in tune with my real and raw self”

Mina shared her skin change adventure with SK-II and PITERA Essence. She got a handle on how she had alluded to SK-II as a reputable skincare brand since she was a teen, so it has been a fascinating experience getting to learn about greatness and skincare from SK-II. After she recorded ‘PITERA™ and me’ with SK-II, she became bolder about going with a bare face, and being more authentic. Her skin has been in generally excellent condition since she began utilizing it.

“This was made possible because of the PITERA™ Essence”, she says.

“Drink lots of water and make time for sufficient rest”

Mina goes on to say that drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of rest are basic and easy ways to maintain healthy skin.

The idol star also mentioned how both inner and outer beauty are important to her. Adding more to it, she says, “I think being beautiful starts from within, and it begins by pursuing what makes you happy.” For the idol, she is happiest when she is with her family and friends.

“The PITERA™ Essence always rejuvenates my skin and leaves it feeling soft and nourished”

Mina’s day-to-day skincare routine is actually somewhat straightforward!

“Every morning and night, after cleansing and toning my face, I will pat the PITERA™ Essence into my skin.” She partakes in the tapping movement without question, as it revives her.

“Personally, no matter the weather, I know I can rely on PITERA™ Essence”

Perfectly clear skin doesn’t simply occur unintentionally. If you’re as intrigued as we are by Mina’s skin change, then stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly, and getting enough rest. From then on, your skin will be solid and gleaming!

Hwang In Youp Greets Singapore HIYILYs at First Overseas Fan Meet

It may be Hwang In Youp’s first overseas fan meet, but the actor knew how to steal the hearts (and breaths) of many Singaporean HIYILYs from the get-go. The almost two-hour show was power-packed with many exciting events–from heartfelt singing to up-close, personal moments with the 31-year-old heartthrob. And if there was one thing the Korean star made obvious that night, it was that he was all about his overflowing love for his fans.

Hwang In Youp made his long-awaited entrance to the stage with a sweet serenade of It Starts Today, a True Beauty OST. The crowd was definitely full of pent-up energy as sharp, passionate roars immediately swept through the entire Capitol Theatre as soon as the fan-favourite began its tune.

Dressed in a bright orange pullover, fitting to the night’s theme, the 18 Again actor greeted fans with a bright, cheerful smile as soon as the melodic performance came to an end. Though it was his very first visit to sunny Singapore, the sea of fans were already up and eager to reciprocate the greeting.

There were many segments on Saturday night’s show which got the fans going. At one point, we saw Hwang In Youp’s knowledge on Singapore being put to the test, and we also got to see him sincerely answering some burning fan requests and questions.

We also saw a side to the actor that could only be seen off-camera–an exclusive behind-the-scenes vlog that showcased how Hwang In Youp enjoyed his free time. And during the In Youp’s Filmogram segment, the actor even took his fans on a walk down memory lane when he dove deep into his filmography and started sharing some stories from the dramas he previously acted in.

Ending off the night, the actor-slash-amazing-vocalist presented fans with another performance. This time of I Mean It, an OST from a recent drama of his, The Sound of Magic. It was the perfect, heartwarming end to the otherwise exciting, high-tension night. Like the brilliant actor he is, Hwang In Youp constantly shone brightly on stage and we’re sure fans were melting at the sight and sounds of the actor the entire time!

If we had to describe Hwang In Youp in one phrase, we would say that he is a gift that keeps on giving. From surprising lucky fans with personalized, handmade gifts, to proactively handicapping himself during the game segment, and even asking stage crews to remove the glass panels separating him from his fans during the hi-bye session. There are so many things to love about this guy, and we found ourselves quickly enamoured by his thoughtful gestures. With that thought in mind, we can’t wait to meet Hwang In Youp in Singapore again someday. Till then, we will recuperate from our post-fanmeet-high by going on a Why Her marathon.
