Fasten your seatbelts. Hit K-Drama Taxi Driver will be back again for another drive.

Show producers revealed that the action revenge series has been renewed for yet another season. The announcement came a day after the broadcast of the second season’s finale.

Both seasons were well received amongst the public. The finale of the second season secured an impressive nationwide viewership of 21.0% — beating its 2021 predecessor which amassed a 16.0%.

That means that it now claims the spot as the highest rating primetime Korean drama on free-to-air TV in 2023. At least for now.

Moreover, Taxi Driver has garnered much recognition during the awards season with multiple nominations and wins for its cast’s performances and well-written plots.

A new season may bring in a new cast. Or perhaps even returning cast members. It’s possible that some short appearances from season two may return.

Lee last visited Singapore last month for his personal fan meet. Then, he shared several interesting snippets from the filming of the drama series.

This series renewal also breaks boundaries and contributes to the new norm of Korean dramas having over just one season.

It follows in the footsteps of the Dr. Romantic, The Penthouse and the Reply series (Reply 1988, Reply 1994 and Reply 1997).
