For K-pop fans, there are a few mega concerts in South Korea that you’ve probably been to. Even if you haven’t been there personally, you’ve at least heard of it.

This includes the Lotte Family Concert, Busan One Asia Festival and the Dream Concert.

The Dream Concert is easily one of the most highly-anticipated events in Korea. It attracts domestic and international fans wanting to catch a glimpse of their favourite artists perform on the same stage.

The concert, co-hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and Korea Entertainment Producer’s Association (KEPA), offers a unique experience for fans to enjoy the best of K-pop.

For the first time, this year’s Dream Concert will be staged out of Seoul. It will be held at the Busan Asiad Stadium on 27 May. Ahead of the show, here are some things to know about the upcoming Dream Concert:

Impressive stage productions and artist lineup

An annual affair since 1995, Dream Concert brings together some of the biggest names in K-pop.

This year’s line up is a crossover between newer artists and veterans. They include ITZY, BTOB, BB GIRLS (formerly Brave Girls), Kim Jae-hwan, g.o.d’s Kim Tae Woo, NMIXX, and more.

Special collaboration stage

One of the main highlights of Dream Concert w0uld be the special collaboration stages. It’s not a common practice in the K-pop industry everyday, but for the big show, artists from different groups come together to showcase special performances.

Last year, we saw K-pop girl group members Jihan (Weeekly), Kim Chae-hyun (Kep1er) and Haewon (NMIXX) join forces to cover IU’s Strawberry Moon (2021).

K-pop boy group representatives Kim Yo-han, Yoo Yong-ha (WEi), Cha Jun-ho, Hwang Yun-seong (DRIPPIN), Lee Eun-sang (Younite) and Keum (EPEX) teamed up for Monsta X’s Love Killa (2020).

Almost a tradition of every Dream Concert, all artists will also come together on stage for the grand finale. And it is often accompanied by a dazzling fireworks display.

A part of the global audience

Just being in one of Korea’s biggest music events of the year alone can check off one’s bucket list.

And the thrill of seeing your favourite artists perform live on stage, jamming to their biggest hits alongside thousands of other fans, will be an unforgettable experience that fans will cherish for years to come.

If you’re looking for a unique K-pop experience in Korea, the Dream Concert may just be the one for you.
