South Korean girl group has recently appointed a new creative director. And he’s none other than Japanese artist and graphic designer VERDY.
While he was not very much involved in the K-pop realm until his recent appointment, VERDY has got quite a number of big deals under his belt.
For instance, he previously worked with Nike for a line of footwear named Girls Don’t Cry. He also worked with the American clothing company Levi’s and the Japanese fashion label Human Made.

This time though, VERDY will be teaming up with the girls to design a series of merchandise for the next leg of their world tour.
Blackpink has been touring various cities since October last year for their Born Pink world tour.

As of yet, there are no photos that tease the merchandise designs. However, in some press images announcing the collaboration, VERDY’s character Vick was shown beside the mascot of YG Entertainment, Krunk.
VERDY will “create a world that merges his distinct artistic touch with Blackpink’s ultra feminine aesthetic,” the statement wrote.

Last September, he took to Instagram stories to give a sneak peek of some new Born Pink merchandise.
The line of merchandise, consisting of a t-shirt, a cap and badges, was supposedly designed for a private listening party, reported Hypebeast.
Separately, Blackpink members will be taking a short “well-deserved break” after their Sydney leg of the Born Pink world tour. It was held at the Qudos Bank Arena yesterday (17 Jun).
The quartet does not seem to have official schedules taking place for approximately a month.
But they are expected to resume touring in July, starting with their Paris encore show on 15 Jul (Sat).
