Jungkook, the youngest member of the seven-piece K-pop sensation BTS, just made his global solo debut on Friday (14 Jul).

The release of the track comes after a decade of him being in the music industry as a member of the superstar septet group, since 2013.

His English track features American rapper, Latto. And its accompanying music video stars popular South Korean actress Han So-hee.

The number seven has great significance to BTS, as well as their fans, as the world-renowned group comprises seven members. While currently on hiatus, the members have since been busy venturing into individual endeavours and are currently focusing on their own solo activities.

Following in the footsteps of his fellow bandmates who have achieved solo success, Jungkook’s debut song promises to be one that will propel his solo career forward as he crisply croons over sultry guitar licks.

Seven feels like a soulful summer R&B track that contains some elements of dance-pop and a groovy house vibe. Think the UK garage genre.

The lyrics to Seven are a strong yet sweet serenade that expresses the desire to spend seven days of the week together with one’s lover. And that lover is actress Han So-hee, seen in the track’s music video.

Her popularity skyrocketed tremendously after her role in the hit K-drama The World of the Married (2020). Scenes of the duo together also offer a refreshing touch of heart-fluttering K-drama moments.

Jungkook had previously released two self-penned tracks titled Still With You (2020) and My You (2022) prior to Seven.

Fresh after the release of his solo tune, Jungkook also performed live at the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series.

His performance in New York City was cut short due to sever weather conditions. But the soloist taped his performances due to the inclement weather.
