K-pop boy band ATEEZ has been a busy bunch lately.

They dropped their 9th mini album, THE WORLD EP.2 : OUTLAW (2023), back in June. Shortly after, they embarked on the Asia leg of their world tour in Taipei.

The eight-piece band will also be stopping by Singapore for a one-night-only show next month.

For the rest of the year, “my ambition is to reveal more facets of ATEEZ”, vocalist Seonghwa said. “And (we would like to) engage our fans, ATINY, with (better) performances. That’s our goal”, he added.

The boys were speaking to HallyuSG in a press session, dialling in all the way from Bangkok, Thailand, ahead of their show there.

Leader Hongjoong then teased in English: “We have a few events for ATEEZ’s birthday and our fans, ATINY’s birthday in 2023”.

“There will be (quite a bit of) happenings in the upcoming months, so please wait for that”.

It’s no secret that their schedules are pretty packed. But amidst it all, the boys find strength and motivation from both members and their fans.

“I think the reason we could stay motivated is because of ATINY’s love and support”, member San said.

He also admits that it’s difficult at times. But “the energy and love from fans really empowered us”.

Seonghwa later added, “Seeing the members constantly striving and achieving goals around me motivates me too”.

Separately, ATEEZ will be celebrating their fifth anniversary this year on 24 Oct. Their fans’ birthday comes a month after, on 17 Nov.

The boys previously dropped a commemorative track, Celebrate (2021), dedicated to their fans. It was first unveiled on the second anniversary of ATINY in 2020. Its lyrics were also co-written by both members Hongjoong and Mingi.

The duo were also the ones heavily involved in the lyric-writing aspect of their recent album. “For the title track, I wanted straightforward lyrics with impact in each word”, Mingi said.

Taking us behind the process of his writing, he shared, “For the b-side (tracks), I tried to match the concepts, (adding) interesting and impactful lyrics”.
