Hongjoong is also part of the Balmain Army, a collective term for the brand’s muses and ambassadors. Balmain does not term their ambassadors as, well, ambassadors.
Heading the show was Balmain’s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing. And he chose to focus the show on who he is as a designer, instead of just chasing trends.
This came after more than 50 pieces from the upcoming collection were stolen from a truck. It was en route to the brand’s headquarters.
In the show, roses were also a recurring theme. They were featured on everything from a pair of cycling shorts and matching peplum to a corset-type design with thorned branches covering the model’s torso, The Guardian reported.
For Balmain, though, it’s not just one K-pop idol who graced the show.
The8, or Xu Ming-hao, of Seventeen, was also present at the show. Notably, this is his first Balmain showcase.
