K-pop reality audition programmes have been wildly successful, without a doubt.
These programmes produced many successful project groups like I.O.I, Wanna One, IZ*ONE and more. Contestants from these shows have often gained more recognition from viewers and the general public alike, because of the cut-throat competition contestants are put through.
And it’s safe to say that reality audition shows have blown up over the years.
Chinese reality programme Chuang
They were so popular that China created a similar programme Chuang, the Chinese equivalent of Korea’s Produce 101. Its first season was broadcast in 2018.
Back for another spin-off in 2023, Jackson Wang heads the programme, titled Chuang Asia, as the lead mentor.
It plans to create a new girl group that will debut through RYCE Entertainment in 2024. Co-founded by Jackson, the entertainment company is home to familiar and famed figures such as Amber Liu, Tablo, amongst others.

Aspiring females born before 2008 worldwide are eligible to apply online. Applications open till 31 Oct (Tue).
Candidates can choose to submit an audition video of themselves either singing, rapping or dancing.
There are no restrictions on nationality. That means Singaporeans are welcome to submit an application for their shot to be trained by Jackson Wang.
If they make it to the final lineup, they will be part of a new girl group under RYCE Entertainment.
In other Jackson Wang news, the multi-hyphenate played in Singapore last month as part of the F1 performances at the Padang. He performed more than ten songs on the first night of the three-day extravaganza.
