South Korean actor Jung Hae-in was in town for his first-ever Singapore fan meet yesterday (29 Oct). Ahead of the session, he caught up with members of the press at the Suntec Convention Centre, where his fan meeting was held.
Jung, 35, shared what he’s been up to these days; as well as some fun facts about himself. Here are four things to know about him.
1. Three things he loves about Singapore
He was in Singapore for his first fan meeting here. So Singapore naturally became a huge part of the conversation during his press conference session.
In particular, Jung loves the local food offerings and the scenery our garden city has to offer. During his trip here last November for the Disney Content Showcase, he recalled enjoying good food.
Chilli crab is on his list of dishes to try this time, and it’s something he’d want to have after his fan meeting.

Another thing Jung loves, and vividly remembers, is the warm and overwhelming welcome he received from his fans then.
2. He has a strong interest in music
Aside from his boyish good looks and acting chops, the popular Korean actor also possesses a strong interest in music and a talent for singing. And his fan meeting offered an opportunity and platform for him to perform and sing for his fans.
When asked if there was a song he’s looping recently, he said that his current go-to track is 10,000 Hours (2021) by pop duo Dan+Shay with Justin Bieber.
3. An introverted extrovert?
Jung has a quiet confidence and humility that radiates as he speaks.

When asked to share a fun fact, he mentioned that he is an “introverted person”. But he later added that his “personality changes in front of the camera and a lot of people”.
4. He wants to try a rom-com next
It might not seem like it because of his youthful demeanour, but Jung has already been in the industry for a decade.
As an actor, two important qualities that stay close to his heart are having a good attitude and being punctual.
Touching on his acting career, Jung starred in many hit dramas that have become a household name, like D.P. (2021), Goblin (2016) and Something in the Rain (2018). He has attempted roles in military and action dramas, and he expressed interest in doing a rom-com series soon if the chance arises.
He also teased that he would be back filming for a new project soon.
