
Netflix is returning with one of the most popular genres — monsters, as the year comes to a close. The streaming giant is not only renewing Sweet Home for a second season, it will also premiere Gyeongsong Creature.
Gyeongsong is the name of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, during the Japanese rule.
The first seven episodes of the series will drop on 22 Dec. The second part of the series, comprising episodes eight to ten will only arrive next year, on 5 Jan.

Like other Netflix series, Gyeongsong Creature boasts a star-studded cast line-up that makes it difficult to not give it a watch.
It is set in the 1940s where people fight for their survival against monsters in the grim era.
Its main lead Park Seo-jun plays wealthy businessman Jang Tae-sang. He has got a good sense of humour and insight that makes him a good informant in town.
After learning how to survive and adapt, the show’s female lead Han So-hee, who plays Yoon Chae-ok, comes back to Gyeongsang to find her mother who disappeared years ago.

The duo crossed paths from there. As they follow traces of a mysterious serial murderer, they both discover secrets and fight for their survival.

Notably, the series is directed by director Jung Dong-yoon, who was behind the 2019 sports series Hot Stove League.
Other actors in the series include veteran actress Kim Hae-sook, Wi Ha-jun, Jo Han-chul and Su-hyun.
