In a statement released by the agency on 29 Dec, they announced that Blackpink has separated from YG Entertainment for their solo activities.
“We will do our utmost to support Blackpink’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with a warm heart,” they said in a statement.
It is worth noting, though, that the girls have renewed their contracts with the powerhouse label for their group activities. Earlier last month, the agency announced that the quartet will be continuing group promotions under YG Entertainment.
The girls have been under the label for seven years now, since their debut in August 2016 with their first single album Square One (2016).
Moving forward, Jennie launched her own record label and company, OA, or ODD ATELIER, last November.

According to its social media posts, OA prides itself on being unconventional and innovative yet attention-grasping. It aims to “create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected,” the label said.
As for other members Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, little is known about their future plans just yet (except Rosé’s season greetings featuring her furball Hank, which is now currently sold out).
Towards the end of last year, Lisa also dropped a special Christmas gift for her fans, or Blinks. She uploaded a rendition of Britney Spears’ My Only Wish on her YouTube channel, Lilifilm Official.
As opposed to her usually tough and charismatic image, she took fans down the streets of Paris in the dreamy and film-like video.
