When life gives you tangerines, perhaps it might be a good idea to use that and create a K-drama with a powerful cast, starring IU and Park Bo-gum.

Helmed by Director Kim Won-seok, he joins forces with IU once again for his latest K-drama creation. They previously worked together in My Mister (2018).

The Korean name of this 16-episode series translates literally to “You Have Done Well” in Jeju dialect. The K-drama will depict the lives of two Jeju natives in the 1950s, set against the tranquil and calming landscape of Jeju Island.

Born Lee Ji-eun, IU takes on the role of the confident and dauntless Ae-sun who aspires to be a poet. She is a bright, positive young woman who has to be defiant, due to her childhood.

On the other hand, Park Bo-gum plays the calm, diligent and dependable Gwan-sik.  He is devoted to Ae-sun from the get-go even though romance is not his best subject.

Veteran actors Moon So-ri and Park Hae-soon will play the older versions of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik, respectively.

This upcoming K-drama will mark IU’s first series in five years, since the fantasy-romance drama Hotel Del Luna (2019). This will also be Park Bo-gum’s comeback to the scene after completing his military duties.

His last work was the youth-themed piece, Record of Youth (2020), and this series would signify his return to the acting scene.

According to various media reports, actor Kim Seon-ho who starred in series like Start Up (2020) and Hometown Cha Cha Cha (2021), and Hospital Playlist’s (2020) Lee Soo-mi will make guest appearances in the series as well.
