It’s been 12 years too long. But renowned South Korean boy band SHINee finally arrived for the Singapore leg of their SHINee World VI Perfect Illumination concert.

The two-hour-long set took place yesterday (3 Mar) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and saw a full-house crowd of some 8,500 Shawols, short for SHINee world, as their fans are called. Amongst the crowd was an exceptional and unexpected guest.

Lisa of powerhouse girl group Blackpink was in our area, quite literally.

This surprised many, especially since the local press and fans speculated that the global K-pop star was in town for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. Fans previously spotted her at Changi Airport on Thursday (29 Feb) as she walked out of the arrival hall.

Her presence at the boy group’s show in Singapore was refreshing for K-pop fans.

It isn’t every day that a K-pop star comes to your country to attend another K-pop idol’s concert. This may be a common occurrence in Korea but not in Singapore. That’s why this special interaction in our home country is even more surreal and wholesome.

But Lisa was not the only K-pop idol seen at SHINee’s concert. Singapore-based singer Sorn also shared a group photo comprising SHINee, Lisa and herself on her Instagram story.

Lisa and Sorn are also personally acquainted and they often express their support for one another and other Thai friends on their social media platforms.

The “K-pop Thai line” is well-known among K-pop fans. And it comprises Thai K-pop idols like Lisa, Sorn, Minnie, Bambam, Nickhun and more.
