South Korean actress Mun Ka-young made a quick pit stop in Singapore on Wednesday (27 Mar), to introduce TUMI’s Asra collection. The Asra collection brands itself as an on-the-go bag perfect for travel, and it is the latest edition to TUMI’s evolving women’s category.

And that perfectly weaved into the concept of the evening.

Guests first took a buggy ride before arriving on a yacht, and they later hopped into a limousine which transported everyone to the event venue. That experience itself was a metaphor for a voyage; and an attainment of Asra’s multi-purpose versatility.

Held at an initially undisclosed location, the launch event of TUMI’s Asra collection also marked Mun’s maiden visit to Singapore, as she dined with guests and later appeared at the al-fresco after-party.

Speaking to the media and guests, Mun said: “I’m so happy to be here this evening to celebrate everyone in Singapore”. “It’s such an honour to be named TUMI’s global ambassador,” she later added.

Mun opted for a dark and elegant strapless black dress, with a high and neat ponytail. She carried the Asra small crossbody in Purple/Sunset.

During the photo call session, Mun also posed for photos with local celebrities like Chantelle Ng, Desmond Tan and more. Overseas stars in attendance also include Hong Kong singer-actress Charlene Choi, Thai actors Love and Dunk, and South Korean personality Sung Hae-eun.

For the official launch moment of the Asra collection, the brand also treated guests to a dazzling digital fireworks display, an electrifying performance by South Korean DJ Siena and an edible dessert art wall by Singapore’s Chef Janice Wong.
