American multinational cosmetics company Estée Lauder recently named South Korean soloist IU as their newest Global Brand Ambassador. She will be joining the likes of Carolyn Murphy, Karlie Kloss, Yang Mi and more to front the brand.

“Estée Lauder is thrilled to welcome IU as [the brand’s] newest Global Brand Ambassador,” Global Brand President Justin Boxford said.

With her extraordinary social media presence and meaningful music, IU is undoubtedly one of the “most influential artists of her time”. Currently, she has amassed some 32 million followers on Instagram.

But IU is not only known for her vocal prowess and mesmerizing beauty.

She also previously starred in the drama series Hotel Del Luna (2019), where her role was received with much fanfare. Then, she played Jang Man-wol, the proprietor of a supernatural hotel.

And Estée Lauder is excited to collaborate with such a “talented and inspiring artist”. The brand also added that IU will “allow [them] to connect with a new generation of consumers in Asia and around the world.”

Kicking off her role, IU will feature in some of the brand’s iconic campaigns. This includes the hero franchises, Advanced Night Repair and Double Wear, according to a press statement. She will make her campaign debut this month.
