Show Review: K-pop rising boy band RIIZE takes Singapore by storm

Making their debut last September, RIIZE has swiftly ascended the ranks of K-pop stardom, capturing hearts with their dynamic performances and charismatic personas.

Their inaugural Riizing Day fan concert, held yesterday (20 Jul) at the Singapore Expo, can attest to that.

A spectacle of visuals and sound, RIIZE treated their fans to a diverse setlist, with top hits like Siren (2024), Impossible (2024) and Get a Guitar (2023) to name a few.

They also covered other iconic tracks like One Direction’s One Thing (2011) and White Christmas (2011) by Super Junior.

Beyond music, fans also got to know them on a personal level.

Members shared personal experiences such as going to karaoke together during the filming of Love 119’s (2024) music video. A freestyle dance battle also received thunderous applause and cheers from an enthusiastic crowd.

Local fans also saw members re-enact iconic scenes from the popular K-drama series Lovely Runner (2024) and Queen of Tears (2024).

K-dramas are already a hit with local fans to begin with, which explains the roaring cheers from fans. As members acted out these intimate and iconic scenes, they also flaunted their humorous and fun sides, prompting bouts of laughter from the floor.

Another segment that fans loved was the reveal of their missions and challenges. Prior to the fan-concert, some members were tasked with missions to complete.

Case in point: Sungchan had to do a sexy rendition of Boom Boom Bass (2024) against the Singapore view.

Teasing a potential return in the future, the group said: “we look forward to returning soon and putting on an even bigger show”.
