Show Review: Here’s everything that went down at WATERBOMB Singapore Day 1

We’re finally at the WATERBOMB weekend. Following several shows in South Korea and beyond, WATERBOMB is making its way to Singapore.

Its inaugural Singapore edition features an electric lineup of some of K-pop’s top acts.

Kid Milli

Kid Milli embodies swag during his set, dressed in black-and-white button-down and singing some of his iconic beat-heavy tracks.

Such include IndiGO (2018), Why Do F*ckbois Hang Out on the Net (2018)  and S/S (2024). The latter is a track in his newest album, RAD MILLI (2024), which was just released four days ago.

Kwon Eun-bi

The WATERBOMB queen has done it again, injecting a dose of healthy serotonin into her refreshing vocals and upbeat tracks.

She started off her set with her debut track, Door (2021) and sang some of her iconic tunes, such as Sabotage (2024) and Underwater (2022). She also celebrated the third anniversary of her debut at her performance.

VIVIZ

The trio turned the adrenaline up at their first WATERBOMB appearance with their fierce gazes and even hotter fits, showing off their charm.

They ruled their stage with sharp choreographies and clear vocals in their exciting songs, including Untie (2023), Pull Up (2023), and everyone’s favourite, Maniac (2023).

Sandara Park

Park’s performance stands out in her relaxedness, showing off her expertise as a seasoned artiste.

Her bright bops are easy to listen to and perfectly complement Siloso Beach’s peaceful night scenery. These include Festival (2023), Happy Ending (2023) and Go Away (2020).

She even sang a 2NE1 medley at the festival, in commemoration of their upcoming reunion.

Jessi

One word to describe Jessi’s set: magnetic.

Despite being ill, she dominated the stage with her presence and impressive stage mannerisms. She simply glowed in her gold outfit and festival-goers found themselves falling into her charms as she engaged the crowd effortlessly.

During her short performance, she sang some of her fan favourites, including Nunu Nana (2020), What Type of X (2021) and Zoom (2023).

Rain

Another musician with many years under his belt, Rain shows off more than his muscular physique but also his groves and strong vocals.

In his 40-minute performance, the singer covered Gang (2021), How to Avoid the Sun (2003), and Rainism (2008).

With his well-rounded setlist and endless charisma, the skilled performer once again proved why he’s one of everyone’s WATERBOMB favourites.

Jay Park

Park commanded the stage with his melodic vocals, complicated choreography, and effortless sexy charm.

He truly maximised his time at WATERBOMB, covering classics, such as Mommae (2015), to new tracks, like Taxi Blurr (2024). He also covered Dynamic Duo’s viral Smoke, showing off his flashy b-boy moves.

Park has also proved his claim of Singapore being his third home by interjecting Hokkien words throughout his performance, including “shiok“, “leng zai” and “boh beh zao“. He even collaborated with local hip-hop artist, Shigga Shay, to perform uRight (2022), which he featured in.
