If you’re an avid TikTok user, chances are, you’ve probably heard an addicting earworm circulating online recently.
“But you been so out of touch, touch, touch, touch, touch. Thought about you way too much, much, much, much, much,” the audio goes. The faces behind that catchy song? The girls of Katseye.
Below, we tell you all you need to know about the global girl group.
Who is Katseye?
Katseye is a girl group formed by Korean entertainment giant HYBE—the label that has brought us BTS, LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans—and Geffen Records, through the talent reality competition The Debut: Dream Academy (2023).
The six members of Katseye made it through the gruelling competition series, beating out thousands of initial applicants, and the other 14 members who were brought onto the programme.

With a highly saturated music industry, you may be wondering, what is so special about Katseye?
Perhaps I can offer one key difference to note: each member of Katseye is of a different ethnicity, making them a truly global girl group.
Sophia, who is the sextet’s leader, is Filipina; Lara is Indian; Manon is Swiss-Italian-Ghanaian; Daniela is Venezuelan-Cuban; Yoonchae is Korean and Megan is Chinese-Singaporean-American.
That’s right, Megan hails from our humble little island.
And while Katseye may have catchy numbers and snappy dance moves that feel reminiscent of K-pop, the girl group is actually based in Los Angeles.
They even performed at KCON LA just a few weeks ago, solidifying their presence as an American group with the intensive training of a Korean one.
Now, the girls are the stars of the new Netflix documentary Pop Star Academy: Katseye, which has gotten global attention on the group once again. Check out the trailer above.
When did Katseye debut?
The six-piece group debuted earlier this year in June, with their track Debut (2024).
The tongue-in-cheek pop song is part of their first EP SIS (2024) which stands for “Soft Is Strong”.
Touch (2024), the track that has gone viral on Tiktok, can also be found on SIS, along with three other songs that give us an opening peek into what they has to offer.

In addition to Touch going viral on Tiktok, the team has also started a dance challenge on Tiktok. They’ve even collaborated with Yeonjun of TXT, and the boys of ENHYPEN.
Though Katseye is just getting started, it’s safe to say that they’re on to bigger, better things in their future.
After all, which other music group can say that they have a show documenting their debut journey just months after their actual debut? It’s all eyes on them from now on.
