aespa’s Karina is the newest brand ambassador for Prada

aespa’s Karina has been named Prada’s newest brand ambassador. This came after an official announcement by the brand a few days ago.

“Prada is pleased to announce [Karina], South Korean singer and leader of K-pop group aespa, as Prada’s brand ambassador,” the brand said.

It’s clear that the Italian luxury fashion house is tapping into the K-pop scene. Just last year, they appointed all seven members of K-pop boy band Enhypen as its brand ambassadors too.

But it definitely came as no surprise that the aespa member is now the latest appointed ambassador.

In January, she was spotted at Prada men’s fall 2024 show in Milan. During her appearance, she wore “one of the viral shift dresses in silk gazar trailing layers of superfine organza”, according to WWD, from Prada’s spring 2024 womenswear collection.

Karina first made her debut with her four-piece band aespa in 2020.

Since then, the ladies have been recognised for their boundary-pushing tracks and their conceptual fusion with the metaverse.

The band also brought their second world tour, SYNK: Parallel Line, to Singapore not long ago. Then, they won fans over with their experimental concepts, metaverse ventures and hyperpop music.

In her new role, Karina will join the roster of ambassadors, which includes South Korean actress Kim Tae-ri, K-stars Jeon So-mi, TWICE’s Sana and NCT’s Jaehyun. And K-pop boy band Enhypen.

Fans can surely look forward to her in more pieces from the brand. Together with an appearance at the coming fashion week, possibly?
