We ended 2024 with a bang as Yuewen Music Festival brought in K-pop stars like Daesung and Taeyang of BIGBANG, Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi, Kiss of Life, ITZY, Kino and Wooseok and many more.

Ahead of their long-awaited performance following their Singapore concert here (previously in April, but sans Lia), HallyuSG sat down with the ladies of ITZY to chat more about their recent experience on our sunny island. We also delved deeper into their upcoming plans for the new year — whether it’s a comeback or a new music release.

How do you feel about performing at the Yuewen Music Festival for the first time?

Yeji: Well, it’s our first music festival performance in Singapore so we’re quite excited. And with the thought of spending time with our Singapore fans during our performance, I’m looking forward to it. I hope the performance goes well later.

Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?

Lia: Firstly, to our Singapore MIDZYs, we’re always grateful for you. Through today’s performance, I hope we get to make great memories together, and in the coming 2025 I hope great things come your way as well.

Ryujin: Even in the last bit of 2024 and in 2025, I hope that our fans and our members stay healthy. That’s my wish.

What are some plans that ITZY has for 2025 that your fans can look forward to?

Ryujin: As a team, I hope that we’ll get to show you our best sides through our comebacks or new music releases. It’ll be great if you can stay tuned to our future promotions and activities.

It’s not your first time in Singapore now. So, what’s your favourite local dish after coming back to our city a few times?

Chaeryeong: For us, it’ll definitely be the Chilli Crab and Pepper Crab. The Kaya toast as well.

As for Kaya toast, we ate it yesterday (upon arriving in Singapore). And as for the crabs, we’re planning to get a taste of that after our performance tonight.

Is there anything special that you prepared for your Singapore performance?

Yuna: After all, we’re performing at a music festival, so with these blinding visuals and songs that’ll get you up on your feet. I think all our fans will enjoy our set in Singapore.
