Review: Hearts2Hearts leave us chasing for more with debut single album, The Chase

SM Entertainment’s new girl group Hearts2Hearts has officially taken their first step into the K-pop industry with their debut single album, The Chase (2025).

The group comprises eight members—Ye-On, Jiwoo, A-Na, Carmen, Stella, Ian, Yuha and Juun—already captivating the industry with their vibrant charms and immense potential.

One stand-out fact about the group is that one of its members, Carmen, is the first Indonesian K-pop idol debuting from one of the big three K-pop agencies.

Just yesterday (24 Feb), Hearts2Hearts dropped their first single album, The Chase, revolving around themes of dreams and new beginnings.

The album comprises two tracks, the title and debut track The Chase (2025) and a B-side tune Butterflies (2025).

The Chase 

Serving as the album’s title track, The Chase (2025) creates an ethereal dreamy soundscape with the combination of their vocal melodies.

A unique surprise element which makes this track different is the mood change, with an intense bass synth.

The music video showcases a dreamlike adventure. The eight members encounter an unexpected phenomenon on their field trip, causing them to stray from their expected path.

Exuding a mythical and mysterious vibe, their performances feature captivating choreography which brings up the song’s energy.

This track also delves into embracing the power of self-determination with lyrics reflecting their venture into the unknown.

Butterflies

Butterflies (2025), on the other hand, embodies a euphoric and mid-tempo melody offering a warm and emotional experience.

The track presents a wholly different vibe to The Chase (2025), featuring a deeper bass line and soothing vocal harmonies. 

At its core, this album conveys the message of the band wanting to create their own dreamlike mythical world. These tracks also once again affirm the girls’ boundless potential, and the future is definitely bright for Hearts2Hearts.
