Mona Lisa (2025) is the newest single from BTS member j-hope named after the famed Leonardo da Vinci painting. The track comes after his recently released single Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel) (2025).

It is a love song that celebrates one’s unique beauty, akin to that of a painting. Just like the song title suggests. Here, his muse is presented as a masterpiece, someone so captivating and perfect who should be immortalised, just like Mona Lisa.

Here, he talks about how the focus is “not (on) external beauty, but rather the distinctive characteristics that make each person special”.

Blending hip-hop with R&B elements, the track is groovy and an absolute earworm, showcasing j-hope’s signature flair in full force.

In the music video dropped last Friday (21 Mar), j-hope flaunts flowy and smooth moves against the backdrop of a contemporary museum. Taken as a whole, the music video is minimalistic and performance-like. And it really draws viewers to focus on his choreography.

The track itself does not have a climax per se. So it’s hard to pinpoint a specific part of the track as the main highlight, unlike the usual BTS songs.

Even then, Mona Lisa (2025) makes for a good listen if you’re just looking for a groovy beat to set the mood on a weekend afternoon.

On touring, BTS member will also soon be holding his solo show, Hope on The Stage, in Singapore next month. He will perform two shows in Singapore on 26 and 27 April at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets to the show have all been sold out.
