5 K-dramas to catch in Apr: Karma, Heavenly Ever After and more…

Spring has arrived. And with it, we’re seeing an onslaught of K-dramas to tune in to. More than just heart-fluttering series, viewers can anticipate a plethora of genres, including fantasy in Way Back Love (2025), thriller in Karma (2025) and many more.

1. Way Back Love

A heart-wrenching romantic fantasy, Way Back Love follows Jung Hee-wan (Kim Min-ha), who had a larger-than-life personality. However, after the death of her first love, Kim Ram-woo (Gong Myung), she lost the will to live and became a recluse.

Unbeknownst to her, Kim has become a grim reaper and arrives to deliver the news of her soon-to-arrive death. Despite being a romance series, this drama will be an emotional rollercoaster as it seemingly delves into heavier topics.

2. Heavenly Ever After

Ever wondered what you would look like in heaven? That’s the central theme of this romantic comedy flick.

After being sent to heaven, Lee Hae-Sook (Kim Hye-Ja) decided to live there with her 80-year-old appearance. That’s because her husband said: “You were pretty in your 20s and you were also pretty in your 40s, but you are the prettiest now.”

However, she soon realises that her husband, Ko Nak-Joon (Son Suk-Ku), chose to live as his 30-year-old self. As their love is put to the test, the drama delves into whether true love goes beyond physical features.

3. Crushology 101

Based on the popular webcomic Bunny and Her Boys, Crushology 101 follows Ban Hee-jin (Roh Jeong-eui), the top student in the sculpture department at Yein University.

After a traumatic experience with her first partner, who was not physically attractive, she became determined to find a good-looking partner. She soon finds herself in the eye of a storm as several charming men vie for her attention.

Crushology 101 is available on Viu from 4 Apr. New episodes every Fri and Sat.

4. Karma

Featuring some of Korea’s biggest names like Park Hae-soo, Shin Min-ah and Lee Kwang-soo, rest assured that titanic performances anchor Karma.

The plot centers around the ill-fated relationship between six people. After ploying and committing a drastic deed, they find themselves increasingly entangled and unable to escape the karma of their crimes.

5. Resident Playbook

Set in the same hospital, Yulje Medical Centre, Resident Playbook is a spin-off from Hospital Playlist (2020).

Focusing on residents in the obstetrics and gynaecology department, viewers follow along on the tale of growth, friendship and more. After all, navigating the ins and outs of being a medical professional is no easy feat.
