1. Tastefully Yours

It’s rare to see Kang Ha-neul in a lead role in a romance series. But viewers can finally explore a different side of him in Tastefully Yours.

In this drama, he plays a money-hungry corporate heir and fine-dining entrepreneur. His relentless pursuit of recipes led him to Jeonju, the culinary capital of South Korea. There, he meets a genius chef, Mo Yeon-Joo (Go Min-si), who is equally hard-headed, and an enemies-to-lovers trope begins.

Tastefully Yours premieres on Netflix on 12 May.

2. Second Shot at Love

A feel-good drama revolving around the topic of quitting alcohol addiction, the main character is aptly named Han Geum-joo, which translates to “abstain from alcohol”.

Played by Choi Soo-young, Han learns to quit alcohol after her diagnosis of alcohol dependency.

During this, she reunites with her first love, Seo Ui-joon (Gong Myung), who had returned to their hometown from Seoul. However, his personality had taken a 180-degree turn.

Second Shot at Love premieres on tvN on 12 May.

3. Dear Hongrang

A heart-pumping mystery melodrama, Dear Hongrang follows Kim Jae-young as he tackles another role in a period drama.

In this case, he plays a long-lost heir who found his way back to his wealthy family. However, he had lost all his memories, leading to undeniable suspicion surrounding his identity.

He then gets entangled with the original heir’s stepsister, Jae-yi (Jo Bo-ah), who soon develops romantic attraction for him following her suspicions that he is not the real heir.

Dear Hongrang premieres on Netflix on 16 May.

4. Nine Puzzles

Son Suk-ku makes his return as a detective named Han-saem in Disney+’s highly anticipated mystery thriller, Nine Puzzles (2025).

The series revolves around a chain of murders that have resurfaced after 10 years. One of the only witnesses of one of these murders, Yoon Yi-na (Kim Da-mi), becomes a criminal profiler to investigate her uncle’s death.

Despite Han-saem’s ongoing suspicion towards Yoon, the two eventually join forces to crack the case.

Nine Puzzles premieres on Disney+ on 21 May.

5. Our Unwritten Seoul

If you’re looking for a lighthearted yet relatable film, this might be the one for you.

A pair of twin sisters, Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae (Park Bo-young), could not be more different as one leads a carefree life while the other hustles through the corporate life.

As the drama progresses, the twins somehow decide to swap lives and encounter Lee Ho-su (Park Jin-young), a lawyer at a renowned law firm. Following this, the trio then embarks on a journey filled with self-discovery and growth.
