
If you’re into Korean cuisine, you would have undoubtedly heard of Chef Choi Hyun-seok.
Despite mainly gaining global popularity from his appearance on Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars (2024), he has also long earned the title of being one of Korea’s top celebrity chefs.

Apart from running Choi Dot, a Korean-European fusion restaurant, he is also a chef at two other restaurants. These include Central Reducer and Dahlia Dining, a Chinese and vegan restaurant, respectively.
When he is not helming the kitchen at his restaurants, he stars on the variety show, Chef & My Fridge (2014). The popular series pits chefs against each other.
There, they have to cook with ingredients from a guest’s fridge within a limited time. Recently, the first-ever chef representing Singapore appearing on the show. He is none other than Chef LG Han, the chef-owner of Restaurant Labyrinth.
This marks their second official meetup after their first meeting in Singapore some eight years ago, during a Singapore Tourism Board editorial shoot. As a testament to their friendship, Chef Han chose Chef Choi as his competitor in the episode.
This time, the duo will go a step further and collaborate for an exclusive event at Restaurant Labyrinth. Spanning over two days, 13 and 14 Jul, the chefs will present an experience that merges Singapore’s and Korea’s culinary colours.

The menu will feature dishes from their Chef & My Fridge episode, perfectly accompanied by makgeolli or Korean traditional rice liquor. Guests can also look forward to the chefs’ novel, innovative courses that would delight their taste buds.
Tickets for the limited event cost $368++ per person, guaranteeing a unique and intimate experience. They have since been lapped up.
