Show Review: In Singapore, LE SSERAFIM nailed the perfect balance of easy, crazy and hot

Easy, crazy and hot may seem like three scattered words to the average Joe.

But for K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM, it’s three of their hottest hits yet, and also the title of their first world tour.

The quintet was here in Singapore yesterday (16 Aug) to play the last leg of their Asian tour (for now) before moving on to the States. Here’s how they perfected the balance of easy, crazy and hot throughout their set, which was slightly shy of three hours.

1. It’s hot; and burning at times

Right from the get-go, they stood majestically as the stage was set ablaze with inferno through mega LED screens.

“At last, a flame is born,” member Yunjin says, finishing up the narration in Born Fire (2025).

The quintet then moves on to Ash (2025), standing stoically on an elevated stage before breaking out into perfectly synchronised choreography.

It’s quite a flawless (and seamless, I must add) spectacle, so much so that I’m feeling the heat, as with the entire sold-out crowd at the Indoor Stadium.

But their remixes got the crowd roaring even louder. They’ve switched up some of their discography, like putting a punk-rock spin on Easy (2024) and performing a festival house rendition of Smart (2024).

2. Crazy good choreography

Synchronised choreography has evolved to be one of the defining features of a K-pop group by now. So it’s no surprise that the girls (as one of the hottest fourth-generation K-pop acts, no less) are in perfect sync.

Their dance routines, by the way, are by no means easy ones to execute.

I’m talking about the body rolls in Antifragile (2023), Kazuha’s leg lift moment in The Great Mermaid (2024), and many more.

Yet, they’ve been insanely precise with their moves; at times graceful and flowly like a stream of water, and at other junctures impactful, spilling with charisma.

It helps that most of these members already have some dance background before coming together as a group. So one look at the group’s live set, and their precision shows.

3. Singlish? It’s easy for them

The last bit of easy? It has to be our colloquial creole, Singlish.

For every stop of the tour, the band injects a local touch with a specific (now somewhat iconic and meme-worthy, too) phrase they’d say in Fire in the Belly (2023).

Usually, member Chaewon chants: “Become my partner (in Korean)” before the last chorus of this rousing anthem. For the Singapore leg, she switched it up to “Be my kaki (a Singlish term for friend)” instead.

They’ve also mastered expressions like alamak and aiyoh, which they hopped around using during their between-song talk sets.

But what got me (and the crowd) in surprise was their challenge to do a localised tongue twister. It’s a string of local drink combinations, like kopi peng (iced coffee), kopi kosong (coffee without sugar), kopi o (black coffee with sugar) and more.

It’s a mouthful, even for a local like me. But it’s no sweat for the LE SSERAFIM members, who got through all of these drink combinations in one go.
