Show Review: A déjà vu encounter with Doh Kyung-soo never felt so right

It’s been about a year since Doh Kyung-soo came to town for a show. Last August, he brought his Bloom fan-concert tour to the Indoor Stadium.

About a year later, he performed here again last Saturday (23 Aug), at the same venue. It almost felt like déjà vu, but this time, his set had more songs, which meant more room to enjoy the pure bliss of his vocals.

Here are three highlights from his set, which was just slightly shy of two hours.

1. Thoughtful gestures

Doh made his show inclusive for local fans with English lyrics on screen for every track he played. With the translation, it definitely bridged the gap between him and non-Korean speakers.

It’s not just a thoughtful touch, per se, as Doh hopes fans really understand what he’s trying to convey through his songs.

“I hope to convey the message I want to say through my lyrics,” he said. “So now, I want to tell you…” he said, before seamlessly transitioning into “That’s Okay” (2019), a comforting number that really warms one’s heart.

2. A wide variety of tracks

Now, many may know Doh through his ballads and OST features. But he wants to show that he has more than just mellifluous vocals.

He played recent hits like Do You Remember? (2025) and Sing Along! (2025). But that’s not all.

“I added some R&B songs into my setlist too,” he said, referring to another of his recent releases, Fit (2025).

He also has other tracks, gravitating to the more groovy and pop side of things, like I’m Gonna Love You (2021), in which South Korean rapper and singer Wonstein features.

3. A nod to his band, EXO

This year marks EXO’s 13th anniversary, but the band has been relatively dormant with members heading off to serve in the military.

Yet, their songs remain ever-iconic (and a staple in Doh’s setlist).

In between a set change, his live band played renditions of EXO’s First Snow (2013), Don’t Go (2013), Growl (2013) and Love Me Right (2015). To sweeten the deal, the singer himself sang a snippet of Love Me Right as he emerged backstage.

“Whenever I sing EXO (songs) in my concert, I feel like I’m longing for it so much,” Doh said, before getting the crowd to join him in singing Don’t Go.
