K-pop veteran Rain to play at Singland Festival, Singapore’s biggest indoor new year celebration

New year celebrations are about to go big and wild. Enter the Singland Festival, Singapore’s biggest indoor new year celebrations as of yet, held at the Marina Bay Sands.

Joining in all the festivities is K-pop veteran Rain, who is set to play at the festival. Born Jung Ji-hoon, the 43-year-old will soon perform live in Singapore.

According to an official media note, he will perform for some 90 minutes, kicking off the four-day-long festival. Singland Festival will start on 31 Dec (Wed), till 3 Jan (Sat).

Rain has since been a prominent figure in the K-pop industry, with hits like Rainism (2008), La Song (2014), Why Don’t We (2021) and more. He also previously performed at last year’s edition of Waterbomb.

While he’s returning for a festival this time around, too, things are shaping up to be slightly different.

He will be joined by more global stars and icons, which will soon be revealed in the coming days. As of the time of writing, it is not clear whether there will be more K-pop acts announced.

However, more of the spotlight is turning to local culture, as the festival is aptly named after, to commemorate 60 years of nation-building.

There will be cultural showcases, art installations, a Wishing Wall, and interactive countdown clocks that festival-goers can spot in the festival space.

Tickets to the festival start at S$198 (Cat 3), and VIP packages cost S$298, while SVIP packages (which come along with a goodie bag) go for S$328. More details can be found here.
