Show Review: Moonbyul lights up The Theatre at Mediacorp

Moonbyul’s Village of Eternal Glow tour made its Singapore stop on 6 December at the Theatre at Mediacorp, and the night felt like a warm reunion for fans of Mamamoo (many of whom had just seen Solar return for her own show one week earlier).

The show blended humour, nostalgia and raw performance energy, all tied together by Moonbyul’s effortless charm. Here was what went down during the 2h setlist.

1. Entering the village

With a tour titled Village of Eternal Glow, there had to be a deeper meaning. The concert opened with Moonbyul leading the crowd into her village, a space she described as a collection of memories that stay bright no matter how much time passes. The stage lighting, visuals and her calm presence made the show feel intimate. By the time she eased into Selfish ft. Seulgi (2018), the audience already felt welcomed into her world.

2. Peak Audience Interaction

If there’s one thing Moonbyul consistently delivers, it’s connection. She reads the room well, and Singapore’s crowd gave her plenty to play off.

Her spontaneous banter quickly became one of the night’s highlights. The funniest moment came when she attempted “Ai stead mai?”, a Singlish phrase asking someone to go steady. She said it with full sincerity, sending the entire theatre into laughter. The exchange was small but memorable, showing her willingness to embrace local culture and not take herself too seriously.

3. Mamamoo’s rap medley

One of the strongest moments of the night was her 16-song Mamamoo rap medley — a rapid-fire sequence that reminded fans just how integral she is to the group’s sound. Signature hits like Wind Flower (2018), Mr. Ambiguous (2017), Starry Night (2018) and Décalcomanie (2016) rolled seamlessly into each other in a tight, six-minute sprint.

Moonbyul later confessed she was nervous performing it, but her delivery was so controlled that the nerves never showed.

4. A Dual Threat

Beyond her rap-heavy moments, the show also highlighted just how versatile Moonbyul really is. She moved easily between rhythmic rap lines and smooth vocal sections, surprising many with her stable belts and warm tone, especially during tracks like Take-off (2025).

It was a reminder that while she’s known primarily as Mamamoo’s rapper, her singing ability holds its own, adding depth to her set and giving fans a fuller picture of her artistry.
